PACKAGING SOLUTIONS

Food has been packaged into metal cans since the early 1900s. Drink cans for both carbonated and non-carbonated soft drinks are the primary use of metal food packaging. Metal cans may either consist of tin plate (steel covered in a thin tin layer) or of aluminum and steel coated with a lacquer. Tinplate has reducing abilities preventing color and flavor loss as well as product oxidation.

For product types where oxidation prevention is less necessary, lacquers have been introduced to protect the food from migration of the packaging material.

The lacquers are on a polymer basis such as epoxy resins and may also migrate into the food. Cans can be extruded, drawn or welded (only possible with steel) and usually consist of two to three pieces, which are connected by seams.  Even in non-lacquered cans, it is considered useful to seal the metal seams with lacquer in order to protect the food from contaminants from outside the packaging material"

  • EASY OPEN ENDS

Electrolytic tinplate for 2-piece beverage cans is of a particular high standard. It requires robust mechanical properties as well as a very demanding durability.

  • TABSTOCKS

Tabstocks have been designed for EOE applications; a smart tool to open any can and strong enough to maintain its integrity during the can opening.

  • STANDARD ENDS

Standard ends have been designed to satisfy different shapes (round, rectangular or irregular) with excellent pressure resistance. They are used for food cans and general cans.

  • BODY CANS (3 pcs)

Process of three-pieces bodies is made by electrical welding. This solution meets the requirement of various sizes for food cans and general cans.

  • DRAWN CANS

Produced by single draw or draw-redraw process. This technique shows the excellent properties and formability of steel. They are used for 2 pcs food cans such as ‘Tuna Can’.

  • AEROSOLS

Tinplate is the best material for aerosols by providing the resistance and strength required to resist to pressures of 12 – 18 bar. We provide the steel for all four parts: welded bodies, bottom, top and mounting cups.

  • CROWN CORKS

Crown corks have been designed for the closure of any beverage bottles which require excellent lacquer adhesion and flatness properties.

  • TWIST OFF CAPS

Twist-off caps are made for hermetic closure of glass containers. This application requires an excellent flatness for good printing.

  • BEVERAGE CANS (2 pcs)

Electrolytic tinplate for 2-piece beverage cans is of a particular high standard. It requires robust mechanical properties as well as a very demanding durability.

  • SPECIALTIES

We propose packaging solutions for decorative cans (biscuit, beverage), industrial cans (paints, chemicals, shoe polish) and cans for non-process food such as baby powder milk.
